Christine B. Redfield

Christine Redfield is a member of Hopkins & Carley’s Trademark Group. Her practice focuses on global brand management and protection. She advises clients from trailblazing start-ups to established global brands on the availability, use, registration, and enforcement of trademarks in the U.S. and worldwide markets.

Chris counsels clients on a variety of issues, including:

  • infringement
  • descriptiveness
  • trade dress
  • dilution
  • abandonment and genericism to domain name acquisition, and enforcement
  • cobranding
  • social media
  • fair use

She represents clients before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board and manages similar proceedings globally. Chris helps clients resolve rights to disputed marks by negotiating licenses, assignments, coexistence agreements, settlement agreements and transfer agreements.

Prior to joining Hopkins & Carley, Chris founded and managed Redfield IP Professional Corporation.

 

  • Manage worldwide prosecution and enforcement of leading brands
  • Prosecuted over 6500 trademark applications and registrations in nearly every jurisdiction worldwide
  • Negotiated sale of iconic brand and worldwide trademark portfolio on behalf of famous computer hardware company
  • Successfully transferred domain name to client following intricate hijacking scheme by foreign entity
  • Conduct takedowns of mobile apps, websites, and social media handles infringing trademark rights of clients
